Ladies Winter League

The Ladies Winter League Class 2 team, captained by Judy Byrne, won their section without dropping a point. They had to play a playoff match  on Wednesday after it got cancelled due to the snow. Having won that the next match was on Saturday 10 March at 9am when the Ladies lined out against Sandycove 1st in a thrilling Q/Final match and won 2 with an unfinished match at nr1. The Semi-Final was held the next day in Donnybrook against Sutton 1 who arrived with a very strong team. It was not Donnybrook's day but what a campaign the panel had.
Miriam O'Meara & Judy Byrne, Caroline Fitzpatrick & Anne Marie Quirke, Melanie Allen & Bairbre MacHale and ably assited by subs Chanelle Dunne and Deirdre Johnston.

Congratulations Osgar

Osgar O'hOisin wins the Men's Singles National Indoors Senior Championships Saturday 6 January 2018, beating David Mullins in the Final.

Next month he will travel as part of the Irish Davis Cup Team to Denmark. Best of luck Osgar.

Congratulations to the Floodlight League 3rd Team

The Ladies Floodlight 3rd team achieved promotion to Class 4 in 2018 having beaten Deerpark in a close Q/Final match. Wishing the team all the best in their S/Final Tuesday 14th at 7.30pm in Sandycove.

Also wishing the very best of luck to the Ladies 1st team in their Class 1 S/Final at home in Donnybrook Tuesday 14 November at 7.30pm against Clontarf.

Osgar has a big win for Wisconsin

Osgar O'hOisin's progress with University of Wisconsin this season.

Wisconsin are currently  ranked no. 30 in the US and  have qualified for the end of season NCAA Mens’ tournament and will be heading to the University of Southern California in Los Angeles where they are to play University of San Diego in the first round on Friday 12 th May.

"Tennis Talk" at Donnybrook ltc

Jerry Sheehan, President Donnybrook ltc, with Fergus Murphy, professional ATP Tour Umpire. Fergus presented a talk on tennis situations, rules and stories from the Tour. The Juniors present posed some interesting questions. Great evening had by all.

Christmas Arrangements

Arrangements for the holiday season : REMEMBER YOUR FOB AT ALL TIMES .

·          December 24 th – Courts and Changing Rooms only will be open until 4pm.

               ·          Christmas Opening Hours: The Club will be closed December 25  - The green gates will be locked so no access to the courts or club house. 

·          December 26 th -  Courts and Changing Rooms only will be open until 4pm.

·          December 27 th SUNDAY – Usual 10am – 6pm.

·          December 28 th Hangover Tournamentstarts 11am for 16+ adults, all standards welcome, no partner required, text 0868245238 if you are available to play. Club gates close 4pm.

·          December 29 th - Normal hours.

·          December 30 th – Normal hours.

·          December 31 st – Club will close by 4pm.

                ·          January 1:  Access to tennis courts and changing rooms only 10am – 4pm. 

·          Office:  will be partially manned over the Christmas period. Please contact the Club Mobile on 086 824 5238 if you have an urgent message.  

Reminder : The Hangover Tournament will take place at 11.00am on Bank Holiday Monday December 28 th .  This will be followed by Mulled Wine & Mince Pies. RSVP to club mobile 0868245238 if available.
