National Junior Indoor Championships December 2018

Congratulations to the Donnybrook LTC Juniors who played in the Finals of the National Junior Indoor Championships played in Westood Leopardstown on Sunday 30th December 2018.

The standard of the Finals was very high. Ethan Simunyu, who had beaten the Number 1 seed in his semi-final, played James Mcgloughlin in the BS 12 Final. Ethan fought hard but the older James won out in the end.

Caroline Danaher seeded 2 played against Amy MacCarthy seeded 1 and after a marathon final Caroline finally won. Super win.

In the GS16 Final, two Donnybrook players met each other. Kate Gardiner raced ahead in the first set. Emma Brennan fought really hard and only got pipped in a tie breaker in the second set. A great match to watch, well done girls.

Juliana Carton, seeded 3 in the GS18 event had a super end to her year by beating Anna O'Farrell in the Final. Juliana did not drop a set in the week and beat the number 1 seed Alison O'Dea in the semi-final.

What a super end to the Juniors year. Congratulations to all and best wishes for 2019.
